Street and Slum Program

While on this program Volunteers will work with vulnerable children and youth between 5 and 25 years of age. Many of them have run away from home due to Civil wars in Northern Uganda, Child Abuse, mistreatment, poverty or death of parents.

Many struggle to survive against sleep deprivation, malnutrition, and disease,  drug abuse. We do a program with them where we gather them up, play music, dance and play games. Working with our local team we counsel them on decision making, the use of drugs, possibilities outside of the slums and their lives.

Many have cuts and grazes which medical volunteers can help us treat and bandage. We also provide them with food, water and fruit. The biggest part of this is to ensure they know they have options and that there are people that care about them.

No previous experience is needed to run this program hence any one can take part in this program.
